The BAK-12 aircraft arresting system is the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard standard emergency aircraft arresting system. On joint military and commercial use airports, a BAK-14 retractable cable system is used in conjunction with the BAK-12 energy absorbing system to allow commercial use of the facilities without concern for wheel rollover damage associated with the standard BAK-12 only arresting system.
