Maintenance,
Testing & Procedures |
Regular
maintenance and testing
should be required for any
Power Distribution System
and is needed to lower the
failure rate of equipment:
|
|
Procedures
need to be developed complementing
the recommended maintenance
and testing procedures from
equipment manufacturers |
|
Testing
Procedures need to be based
on equipment operating instructions
as recommended by the manufacturer
and should follow guidelines
of the International Electrical
Testing Association (NETA).
The manufacturer should
dictate how often a piece
of electrical equipment
should be tested and the
type of maintenance required.
For example, emergency generators
require periodic maintenance
and testing. A periodic
maintenance and test reporting
system should exist, if
not, an outline should be
provided. From maintenance
and testing reports the
condition of each item of
equipment should be documented
so changes and failures
can be tracked |
|
Electrical
Safety Training is required
by OSHA Regulations
 |
|
|
Highest
training priority
should be to provide
for the safety of
personnel |
|
|
Insufficiently
trained personnel
are a significant
risk to you, the equipment
owner |
