This project included engineering design and bid phase services for new medium intensity edge lighting system for Taxiway A. The edge light system consisted of new light fixtures, cable, conduit and transformer housings (cans). Other improvements included electrical vault modifications associated with the new edge lighting.

Aviation Alliance, Inc. was responsible for all electrical design plans and specifications for this project. The project expands the Terminal Apron on three sides and adds an exit taxiway between the Terminal Apron and taxiway parallel to the runway. Our work encompassed taxiway/taxilane edge lighting, can and conduit installation for future taxiway and taxilane centerline lighting, fence obstruction lighting, new duct banks, fiber optic cable, relocation of ground service equipment (GSE) power service and power pedestals, and surface sensor cable extensions.

The project included design of NAVAIDs and visual approach aids for an 8800' parallel taxiway to serve as an alternate landing surface. Airfield electrical design consisted of a new MALSR system for each end of the landing surface. Provisions for installing two new GFM ILS systems (LOC w/DME) and adjusting existing glideslope antennae to serve the landing surface were also included. Additional services for this project included installation of GFM equipment shelters and demolition/relocation of ILS equipment for Runway 16-34.

The project included design of new edge lighting, signage, and FAA NAVAID improvements required for the reconstruction of pavement for an existing runway 8800' long. Airfield electrical design also included replacement of existing runway pavment surface sensing equipment and system.

The project included design of an 8800' parallel taxiway, 100 feet wide with 25 feet wide shoulders, to serve as an alternate landing surface. Airfield electrical design consisted of a new taxiway edge light system and signage on new, dedicated circuits. Provisions for use as an alternate landing surface included a separate edge light system with runway signage. Additional services for this project included separate construction packages for site preparation and paving/electrical work. The paving/electrical package was bid with phased base bid and eight bid alternates, requiring ten separate construction cost projections.

Engineering design/bid services and basic construction support services for a new high intensity runway lighting (HIRL) system for Runway 7-25. Other work included new cabling to existing runway distance remaining signs.

Engineering design/bid services for new LED edge lighting for the existing portion of and for the extension of Taxiway B. The upgrade consisted of replacing existing stake mounted fixtures with LED fixtures on existing bases and new LED fixtures for existing stake mounted lights. Other work included replacement of runway exit signs on existing foundations, as well as new base mounted edge lights and guidance signs for the taxiway extension.

• Runway 1-19 Safety Area Improvements
This project consists of providing 1,000-foot extended safety areas off both ends of Runway 1-19 and providing grading to the extent feasible for the critical grading area of a future proposed capture effect glide slope (CEGS) to replace the existing end-fire glide slope (EFGS). Aviation Alliance's responsibilities are: 1) Review of the grading plans; 2) Plans and specifications for the demolition of the existing R/W 19 MALSR and installation of a new FAA-supplied DME Corp MALSR; 3) Temporary lighting and signage for the construction displacement of R/W 19 threshold; and 4) FAA coordination at the Regional, SMO, and SSC levels. Construction support services also will be provided.
